Beyond the leisure, these videos perfectly illustrate the awareness that we must have about the scope and / or amplitude that our actions and inactions can produce.

The scope

By this, we translate the short, medium or long term consequences that our actions and inactions will produce. This fallen dominoes inspire us two scenarios:

  • In the first case, consider that all these dominoes translate an action or inaction of the first of them: the extent of the consequences is simply crazy! In our real examples that we gave in the evil of the wait-and-see attitude, could Mr X and Mrs Y imagine for a single second that their actions would have consequences of:

  • Depriving whole neighborhoods of electricity;

  • Penalize Companies and shops;

  • Break down their devices and lose their condiments;

  • And even no longer able to give their offspring pocket money?

No, they could not ... because you have to push the analysis very far to achieve it! This is so: never neglect the scope that our actions and inactions can produce because we still can not embrace them.

  • In the second case, consider that each domino represents a person of the people. Link this to our example on the difference in impact between € 1 and € 1,000,000 ... In other words, we can underestimate an action or an inaction at our individual scale whereas it only has the scope when we all invest in it, whether it's basic or complex behavior. This is how we build or deconstruct ourselves. It is also how we develop or underdevelop. And that's where it makes sense that each of us changes positively so that together we move from a behavioral reeducation to a behavioral culture.

Watch now the video.

The amplitude

In this case, we illustrate the powerful impact of an action or inaction on the short term. One more reason to think about our everyday behavior and reform.

An example that occurs frequently on the roads: fatal accidents. Very often because the drivers did not respect the code of the road imagining that they were good enough to pass ... to the result, several dead.

Another example: the tragedy of the ferry Joola from the Casamance which caused the biggest disaster in maritime history with more than 2,000 dead including 1,800 officials (just under 1,500 victims for the Titanic). Among them, whole families disappeared whose relatives still painfully mourn. And the difference is significant: the Joola was a ferry built for a maximum capacity of about 500 people while the Titanic was a liner designed to take more than 3,300 people, crew included.

A "small" action that produces a huge consequence. Watch the video then imagine where we will be in 25 years if, in scope and amplitude, individually and collectively, we produce the same effects in good behavior and positive awareness ... The dream will come true. As we like to say: the future is today, tomorrow will be late!
